NORTH AMERICAN SCHOOL. 20TH CENTURY. Elegance and contemplation, 2000.

Descriptio Black and white photographic print. Dimensions: 35 × 28 cm. An artistic portrait of a woman with very short hair, draped in a wide white fabric draped asymmetrically over her body, leaving one shoulder bare. The model is shown facing forward, with one arm crossed over her torso and the other hand resting under her chin, adopting a reflective pose and gazing slightly to one side. The dangling earrings and the simplicity of the clothing lend a timeless, understated elegance to the composition. The side lighting divides the face into areas of light and shadow, accentuating the expressiveness of her gaze and highlighting the delicate folds of the white fabric against a dark, neutral background. The pose of the figure, the balance of the proportions, and the refinement of the compositional elements give the image a remarkable sculptural quality. His visual language shares stylistic affinities with the work of Irving Penn (1917-2009), particularly in the restraint of his studio portraits, the elegance of his poses, and his ability to imbue the human figure with monumentality through minimal formal means, as well as with the photography of Herb Ritts (1952-2002), due to the sculptural treatment of the body, the restrained sensuality, and the expressive use of black and white.
