“Noli Me Tangere – Christ Resurrected and Mary Magdalene” is a work of intense spirituality inspired by one of the most moving episodes in the gospel account of Christ’s Resurrection: the meeting between the risen Jesus and Mary Magdalene at the tomb now empty. The composition depicts Mary Magdalene kneeling at the feet of Christ, caught in the moment she recognizes the Master. Her face turned toward Him, one hand raised to her chest and the other extended in a spontaneous gesture of astonishment and devotion express awe, emotion, and deep faith. Jesus, wrapped in a luminous robe, appears with a serene and solemn bearing, while His gently raised hand seems to accompany the words that gospel tradition has made famous: “Noli me tangere,” “Do not cling to me.” Behind them appears the open tomb, with the great stone already moved from the entrance: a central element of the scene and a symbol of the victory over death.
