Todas las subastas / Alfombras & textiles / No Reserve - Extra-Long Vintage Kars Gallery Carpet, Eastern Turkey
Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve - Extra-Long Vintage Kars Gallery Carpet, Eastern Turkey Size: 17 ft x 5 ft 3 in (5.18 m x 1.6 m) Provenance: Property of a Boston dealer An unusually long Kars carpet from eastern Turkey, combining bold geometric drawing with an exceptionally useful gallery format. Kars weavings draw upon the closely related textile traditions of eastern Anatolia and the Caucasus. Their broad medallions, angular ornament, and substantial wool give them a strong architectural quality, while their softened colors make them highly adaptable to informal and contemporary interiors. At seventeen feet in length and more than five feet wide, this carpet can furnish a gallery, entrance hall,l or loft space that would be difficult to accommodate with a conventional narrow runner. Condition Request Condition Report Lot #446 is in very good condition. The pile is full and even, with no visible signs of wear. All sides are complete and securely finished. There is no dryness in the foundation. The rug is clean and floor-ready. Please contact our rug experts at auction@nazmiyal.com or call us for any questions you may have at 212.545.8029. Please note that all lots are sold "AS IS. " Condition reports are given as a courtesy to our clients and shall not be deemed as a guarantee of the lot's condition, quality, and authenticity. The absence of a condition report does not imply the item is in perfect condition.
