Berchem (Haarlem, 1 October 1620 – Amsterdam, 16 February 1683) was a Dutch painter, specialized in pastoral scenes populated with mythological characters or biblical figures. Dancker Danckerts (baptized in 1634 and died in 1666 in Amsterdam) was one of the most skilled Dutch engravers, publishers, and cartographers of the Golden Age. He belonged to a famous dynasty of printers and art merchants in Amsterdam. Despite his short life, he left a profound mark on the cartographic and artistic reproduction of the era.
