Natural petrified wood bowl from Indonesia from Indonesia- 1241.77 g

This monumental bowl of petrified wood is a true masterpiece of geological history. It originates from Indonesia, one of the world’s most renowned regions for exceptionally high-quality fossilized wood. Its organic form recalls the tree’s former liveliness, while the smoothly polished surface in finely nuanced brown, cream, and beige tones reveals the ancient grain. The fine, sometimes crystalline veins of agate and quartz that thread through the wood fossil like geological artworks are especially fascinating. These inclusions glitter subtly in the light, adding depth and a noble complexity to the shell’s already impressive structure. Each line, every fiber tells the story of millions of years of earth history, captured in a piece that today takes on new meaning as a functional yet decorative object. Petrified wood forms through a natural silification process, in which the organic material is gradually replaced by minerals and transformed into stone over long periods of time. This shell is thus not only a one-of-a-kind piece of extraordinary beauty but also a timekeeper from a world that existed long before us. Whether as a central design object in a stylish interior, a museum-worthy focal point, or a special collection piece, this shell expresses a connection to the earth, durability, and natural elegance. Its unique blend of form, color, history, and texture makes it a highlight for anyone seeking something extraordinary. Stone: Natural Large Petrified Wood Bowl from Indonesia - with distinctive Agate/Quartz veins running through Weight: 1241.77 g Size: 187x157x34 mm Treatment: None Origin: Indonesia It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood: the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language.
