“Mortlach – Special Release 2020 21 Years Old – “The Beast of Dufftown” – Highly Exclusive Limited Edition Mortlach Special Release 2020 21 Years Old, an extraordinary expression that captures the most intense and powerful character of the iconic Dufftown distillery. A limited edition matured for 21 years, offering remarkable depth, complexity, and commanding presence. This sought-after release is part of Diageo’s prestigious Special Releases collection, an annual series produced in very limited quantities and highly prized by whisky enthusiasts and serious collectors worldwide. This expression was finished in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks, bringing exceptional richness and layers of flavor. The result is an intense yet elegant whisky where Mortlach’s signature meaty and robust character intertwines beautifully with notes of ripe fruit, dark chocolate, dried fruits, and warm spices. Key features: • Edition: Special Release 2020 (limited production) • Age: 21 Years Old • Distillery: Mortlach • Cask Finish: Pedro Ximénez & Oloroso casks • Alcohol Strength: 56.9% ABV (Natural Cask Strength) • Volume: 70 cl On the nose, it reveals deep aromas of raisins, dates, dark caramel, fine oak, and sweet spices. The palate is rich, powerful, and velvety, delivering notes of cocoa, candied fruits, toasted nuts, and Mortlach’s signature savory, meaty undertones. The finish is long, intense, warming, and beautifully spiced. Investment potential: Older Mortlach Special Releases have become increasingly desirable on the international secondary market. Their limited availability, elevated age statement, and distinctive character make this bottle an outstanding option for both collectors and investors. A rare opportunity to acquire one of Mortlach’s most refined and powerful expressions, combining exclusivity, prestige, and strong appreciation potential.” This is a limited edition of only 7644 bottles, this being number 394, which also means it was one of the first to be bottled.
