Released in 2011 to pay homage to Carlo Collodi, the renowned Italian author who brought to life the adventures of Pinocchio, this piece is a showcase of craftsmanship and visual storytelling. High Craft Design: Every element of the fountain pen tells a part of the story. The dark brown resin body evokes the wood of the famous puppet, while the fluted cone in champagne gold nods to its unmistakable nose. The spectacular skeletonized cap is coated with champagne gold plating and features masterful cutouts revealing the Fairy Godmother, the Cat, the Fox, and the enormous Whale. The clip, with its screw-design, recalls Pinocchio's own joints. Nib and Exclusivity: Crowned by this writing jewel is a handcrafted 18-karat solid gold nib, exquisitely engraved with the figure of the talking cricket, Pinocchio's enduring conscience. This fountain pen is a Strict Limited Edition, with this unit numbered 05162 of 12,000 manufactured worldwide, as evidenced by the engraving on the upper ring. Condition (Expert Review) Prospective bidders are asked to carefully review the photo gallery to verify the pristine condition of the piece: Body and Cap: In exceptional condition. The resin maintains its original deep shine and the skeletal metal shows no dents, wear, or loss of plating. Fittings: The hinged clip and the rings retain a perfect mirror polish, free of scratches or nicks. Writing (Mechanism): The internal piston-filler mechanism turns and operates smoothly. The 18K gold nib is pristine, with the tines perfectly aligned and ready to write.
