Montblanc - 225 Set (Fountain Pen & Ballpoint) - Fountain pen

A0000005769 VINTAGE MONTBLANC 225 SET FOR WRITING (GERMANY, 1970s): Presenting at auction a superb Montblanc writing set that perfectly encapsulates the German industrial design of the 1970s. Moving away from the classic polished resins and gold plating of the Meisterstück line, the 225 series embraced 1970s Bauhaus-influenced minimalism, creating work instruments that are sturdy, sober, and of impeccable technical quality. The set consists of a fountain pen and its matching ballpoint pen. Both instruments feature bodies made of a special black resin with longitudinal brushing (Makrolon-style), offering a warm, matte texture that is highly resistant to scratches. The caps are made of brushed stainless steel, finished with the iconic Montblanc white star. Individual features: Fountain pen (225): Equipped with integrated piston filling system. It sports a fabulous bi-tone nib crafted in solid white gold 14 carats (585-silver), designed to provide a smooth writing experience and protect the ink from evaporation. Ballpoint pen (285/225): Incorporates Montblanc’s clever and characteristic mechanism of the 1970s: the tip is actuated by pressing the clip downward (lever-clip mechanism). Condition (Expert Review) Purse-holders are asked to closely observe the photographic gallery. The set is in an honest and very good vintage condition: Bodies and caps: The brushed steel is in very good condition. The textured black resin shows light wear and areas where the brushing has softened from historical use (creating slight shine typical of natural wear on this material), but there are no cracks or breaks. Nib: The 14K white gold nib is pristine and the tines are properly aligned. Mechanics: The fountain pen’s piston turns smoothly and the ballpoint’s clip mechanism works perfectly. (Expert note: They are delivered as is, without original case. The ballpoint may require a fresh ink refill. For the fountain pen, given its antique piston system, a preliminary rinse with water is recommended). Shipping The items will be carefully protected and securely packed, with insured shipping and an international tracking number. A fantastic opportunity to acquire a vintage Montblanc utilitarian-design set, ideal for heavy daily use at the desk! Best of luck to all bidders!
