Montague Dawson: pencil sketch on paper of Trawler Men sorting the catch

Montague Dawson: pencil sketch on paper signature, This fine pencil drawing is a preliminary study by the renowned marine artist Montague Dawson showing a fishing trawler at sea, the drew bringing in and sorting the catch on the deck. The work is highly detailed and would have been intended for use as the basis for a painting or print at a later date. It may well have been drawn from life as was often the case as part of Dawson’s artistic practice.
