Monet – Wide-link Necklace – 1970s Created in the 1970s, this Monet-branded necklace perfectly illustrates the decade’s taste for golden jewelry with generous volumes. The wide interlaced links form a soft, sculptural line around the neck, with a play of relief that is particularly successful. With its 143 g, the necklace is exceptionally substantial: dense in hand, perfectly articulated and rich in material. This generous construction gives it that sense of quality typical of Monet’s fine vintage productions, quite different from the lightweight jewelry of contemporary manufacture. The gilding is remarkably well preserved and the necklace presents an excellent overall condition.
