Mondia by Zenith Mistral Automatic Chronograph, a Swiss chronograph produced in the 1980s/early 1990s, during the period when Mondia was part of the prestigious Movado-Zenith-Mondia group. It is a piece made with Zenith standards and components, later marketed under the Mondia brand: a combination highly appreciated by collectors for high mechanical quality at an affordable price. Movement: Automatic Valjoux/ETA 7750 caliber (28,800 A/h), the same reliable and robust movement used by many prestigious houses. Complete chronograph + day and date. The watch is fully functional: automatic winding, chronograph (start, stop and reset) and day/date change operate correctly and precisely. Case: Stainless steel, diameter 38 mm excluding crown. Tachymeter scale bezel. Screw-down back with “STAINLESS STEEL”, “SWISS MADE” and “WATER RESISTANT”. Pusher buttons and crown are original. Dial: White with applied baton markers, three sub-dials (12, 9, and 6 o’clock), small seconds at 9 o’clock and day/date window at 3 o’clock (days in Italian – “LUN”). Bracelet: Black generic leather strap (not original), in good condition and ready to use. Condition: Vintage watch in good overall condition. Light signs of wear on the case and back, normal for a piece over 30 years old. Dial and crystal are in good condition. No functional defects: everything operates 100%. Measurements: Case diameter: 38 mm (excluding crown) Thickness: about 14–15 mm Lug width: about 20 mm A fine example of a “Mondia by Zenith” chronograph from the quartz crisis era: top-level Swiss quality, legendary 7750 caliber, comfortable dimensions and classic sporty look.
