Mold - Brick mold now as a wall shelf

Characterful wooden brick mould with iron fittings – decorative compartment shelf for miniatures From artisanal tool to atmospheric showpiece! This elongated wooden brick mould combines dark weathered wood with sturdy iron fittings. The narrow form, consecutive compartments and visible fastenings give the object a tough, almost architectural appearance. The wood has a warm patina, with color differences, wear marks and traces that suit its former use. The metal bands and crosspieces reinforce the industrial character. A special object for a country-style interior, a sparsely furnished room, or a collection of old objects. An artisanal past, a decorative destination In traditional brickmaking clay was processed into wooden forms, after which the formed bricks could dry and be fired. Multiple shapes made it possible to form several bricks at once. Metal edges helped protect the wooden construction against wear. Today such a mould takes on an attractive new function as a display rack for miniatures and small collectibles. When placed upright, the compartments form a lovely display for, for example, small figurines, miniature houses or other personal finds. This way you turn an old tool into a wholly own collector’s rack. Even without contents the mould is a decorative object: the repetition of the compartments and the combination of wood and metal speak for themselves. Features * Elongated wooden brick mould with multiple compartment shapes. * Dark brown wood color with weathered patina. * Iron fittings with visible fastenings. * Wooden crossbars at both ends. * Decoratively usable as a compartment rack for miniatures. * Fits a country, rustic or industrial interior. * Treated against woodworm. * Exact age and origin unknown. * Offered without decorative contents.
