This impressive ship was the first major warship fully designed and built by the French themselves under the leadership of Cardinal Richelieu. This scale model is very likely built from a high-quality wooden construction kit (such as Corel or Mantua). Condition and restoration information: This model is offered as a restoration and cleaning project for the enthusiast. Woodwork & Hull: The wooden hull, masts and construction are in a solid, structurally sound condition. Details such as the gun ports, the gallery at the stern and the rigging points are well preserved. Sails & Rigging: The linen sails and rigging have collected a lot of dust over the years and show signs of age (patina). Some parts of the rigging may need to be tightened or repaired.
