Mirror- Cornucopia - 140 cm - Gilt bronze - Louis XV

It is a grand mirror in the Louis XV style, a piece of gilded brass that, at 140 cm tall, asserts itself as a fully theatrical object, heir to the 19th-century French ornamental tradition. Its silhouette, sinuous and enveloping, responds to the rococo vocabulary: intertwined curves, volutes that spring from the frame, and a sense of continuous movement that makes the mirror seem almost alive, breathing light and reflection. The gilded brass, generously worked, provides that warm shine reminiscent of old fire gilding, though here reinterpreted with the industrial and artisanal techniques of the 19th century. The surface features vegetal reliefs, small flowers, scrolls, and cartouches that unfold gracefully, creating a visual rhythm that climbs from the base to the crown. The latter, more theatrical, acts as a stylistic signature: a terminal element that evokes the cornucopia, a symbol of abundance and fantasy, very present in the historicist reinterpretations of Louis XV. The shape of the mirror, slightly curved and adapted to the frame, reinforces the sense of a noble piece, intended to occupy a central place in salons, reception rooms, or period bedrooms. Its size—imposing without being excessive—allows it to function as both a decorative object and an architectural element, expanding the space and bringing brightness. Overall, it is a mirror that combines late Rococo, 19th-century metalcraft, and an elegant presence that continues to be magnetic. Shipped with certificate and careful packing.
