Mino Maccari (1898-1989) - Composizione figurativa a tre volti

Incisive and expressive oil on canvas mounted on panel, signed in the bottom right by the master Mino Maccari (1898–1989), a prominent figure in Italian art and pictorial satire of the twentieth century. The painting perfectly synthesizes the artist's stylistic signature, characterized by a swift, chunky brushstroke rich in painting matter, able to convey with irony and vigor the psychology of the subjects represented. The scene unfolds around three overlapping figures in a play of marked chromatic and formal contrasts. On the right stands out the stylized profile of a man, traced with bold black lines on a dense yellow background, while on the left and in the foreground emerge two female faces modeled with vivid tones of green, blue, pink, and orange. The balance between the graphic component of the stroke and the strength of color makes the work extremely dynamic and of strong visual impact. The work is presented within its original frame, composed of a passe-partout in raw canvas and a gilded wooden frame that enhances its warm tones. The painting, protected by glass, is in excellent overall condition, with the chromatic surface well preserved and bright.
