He is regarded as one of the great Valencian watercolorists of the 20th century and the dean of the Spanish watercolorists of his era. He was born in Castellón in 1898 and died in Valencia in 1989. He was a founding member of the Pont de Fusta artistic group and was part of the board of the Circle of Fine Arts of Valencia. In 1987 he received the Gold Medal for Artistic Merit from the Circle of Fine Arts. Besides painter and watercolorist, he worked as an illustrator and comic-strip creator. He created the children's character Jaimito and collaborated with the Valencian satirical magazine La Traca before the Civil War.
