Enamelled Michelin Vintage Sign - Large Road Map of Italy with Bibendum Man - 1960s/1970s (76x62 cm) Splendid and rare Michelin advertising sign in heavy enameled metal, depicting the detailed road map of northern and central Italy. An iconic piece of automotive history and twentieth-century road cartography. The sign, large in size (76 x 62 cm), features at the bottom left the famous Michelin logo accompanied by the company’s unmistakable mascot, the Michelin Man (Bibendum), in relief with the classic vintage graphics. The cartography shows the dense network of Italian roads and highways of the period, printed with exceptional color precision on enamel. At the top right there is an old sticker from the local ambulance service ("Croce Verde Fano"), which adds a fascinating touch of historical authenticity and témoins to the object’s real use in Italy (likely inside a historic workshop, service station, or public office). Technical features: • Brand: Michelin • Subject: Road map of Italy with Michelin logo and Bibendum • Material: Heavy enameled metal (single-sided) • Estimated period: 1960s / 1970s • Dimensions: 76 x 62 cm • Country of origin: Italy Condition: The item is presented in good vintage condition, with a beautiful patina that enhances its historical charm. The enamel colors are vivid and bright. It shows physiological signs of wear, slight enamel loss along the peripheral edges and around the mounting holes (as visible in the photos), details that guarantee the piece’s absolute authenticity and do not compromise the central cartography’s aesthetics. Equipped with original corner holes for easy wall mounting. A collectible piece ideal for decorating vintage garages, workshops, automotive showrooms, or interiors with an industrial/retro style. The sign will be packed with the utmost care and shipped with tracked insured delivery.
