Michel Suret-Canale (XX-XXI) - Marée basse en Bretagne

Low tide in Brittany — 2026 Michel Suret-Canale Oil on canvas — 55 × 75 cm At low tide, the landscape transforms. The sea withdraws and reveals the intertidal zone, a vast provisional territory made of sand, water and reflections. In this painting, I wanted above all to preserve that sense of space and silence. The broad horizontal lines of the coast contrast with a turbulent sky, pierced by light. A small human silhouette, almost lost in the immensity, provides the scale of the landscape without interrupting the contemplation. Brittany is here felt more than described: a changing light, wetlands, a distant sea, and that particular impression of a world momentarily revealed by the retreat of the waters. Original and unique work, entirely hand-painted in 2026. Technique: oil on stretched canvas. Dimensions: 55 × 75 cm. Signature: signed at bottom left. Counter-signed, titled, dated and authenticated on the back. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Indicative value based on the artist’s Akoun rating: 55 × 75 × 0.24 = 990 €.
