Hollow Porcelain Plate from MEISSEN – from the Punktzeit period, between 1756 and 1773. Decor bearing the name of Blue Onion Authentic antique Meissen porcelain plate from the 18th century, decorated with the famous traditional Blue Onion motif (Zwiebelmuster) hand-painted in blue underglaze. The exact period corresponds to the “Punktzeit” period (Punktzeit, between 1756 and 1773): Authentication by the mark with two crossed swords and the characteristic blue dot between the guards, painted underglaze on the back. A top-tier piece with no factory scratches on the mark. Presence of mold marks in relief in the paste. The piece is sound and shows two small nicks (tiny chips) on the rim (see photos), but no cracks or restorations. The cobalt blue and the glaze have retained a superb luster for a object over 250 years old. A magnificent testament to the history of European ceramics, ideal for a collector or display piece.
