Dear Bidders, I'm offering here a refined three-piece set of modernist white porcelain by Meissen, comprising the “Four Seasons” vase, the “Morning, Noon and Evening” candleholder and the “Day and Night” dish. The pieces feature subtle figurative reliefs designed by German porcelain artist Jörg Danielczyk (born 1952) and were produced circa 1980. Their monochrome white finish emphasises the sculptural forms and finely modelled relief decoration. A distinctive example of late-20th-century Meissen modernist design. SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS: Meissen porcelain was developed in 1708 as the first European porcelain at the behest of Augustus the Strong, Elector of Saxony. In 1710, the “Royal Polish and Electoral Saxon Porcelain Manufactory” was founded. The cobalt blue “crossed swords” are considered “the oldest luxury trademark in the world still in continuous use. The first production site of Meissen porcelain was Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen. Danielczyk worked for the Meissen manufactory for nearly five decades and later became its chief sculptor, playing an important role in shaping its contemporary artistic language. IMPORTANT: If, however, the item is damaged or lost, please contact me via the internal Catawiki chat. According to EU law for courier companies, in any case of damage to an international shipment, the first step in obtaining compensation is for the RECIPIENT to report the damage to their local supplier within 7 days of receiving the shipment. Only then, after the RECIPENT ( you ) receives a certificate of damage, I as the sender can claim compensation. In addition, the following photos will be required: the damage to the item, the outside of the box with the shipping label, and the inside of the box including the materials used to protect the shipment.
