Antique Meissen Porcelain Deep Serving Bowl with Shell Handles – Cobal Blue & Gilt – Knauf Period (c. 1870–1890) An exquisite and substantial antique porcelain deep serving dish / fruit bowl (Henkelschale) manufactured by the world-renowned German porcelain manufactory Meissen. This piece dates back to the celebrated Knauf Period (circa 1870–1890).The bowl features a magnificent classical design, highlighted by:Exquisite Rococo Handles: Two sculpted, heavily gilded shell-shaped handles with ornate scrollwork.Cobalt Blue Border: A rich, deep underglaze cobalt blue rim accented with intricate gold-painted patterns and a scalloped gilt edge.Hand-Painted Florals: Beautifully detailed polychrome floral bouquets ("Deutsche Blume") inside and around the rim.Markings:The base bears the authentic underglaze blue Meissen crossed swords mark with dots on the pommels (Knauf-Schwerter). There are no incised cancellation cuts across the blades, confirming this as a 1st Choice / 1st Quality item. It also includes the impressed mold number "18" and hand-written painters' marks in blue.
