MEDSAN - The Iron Giant and the Wolf in the Snow...

THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1 On this square format, Medsan places the Iron Giant, the robot from the Warner Bros. animated film, on the slope of a snowy hillside. Half-buried in the slope, it leans on the snow with one hand and tilts its head, its round eyes turned downward. Its gray, riveted, rust-eaten frame is covered with snow and long icicles of ice; a torn red cloth hangs from its shoulder. In the bottom left, on a rock, a gray wolf stands motionless and looks up at him. Behind, the plain opens onto a wide expanse of water where a low sun is reflected, between patches of dark pine islets and snowy mountains; more pine trees, white with snow, line the right. The palette blends the bluish-white of the snow, the gray and ochre of the frame, and the single red patch of the cloth. In the bottom right, the cartouche メドサン. One would say two solitary souls who recognize each other at the end of winter. A quiet and powerful piece, ideal for bringing an emotional touch to a contemporary interior of an animation film collector.
