Marlen - Marlen Raffaello 500°: Autoritratto - Edizione...

We present the Marlen Raffaello 500° Collection: Self-Portrait On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the death of Raphael Sanzio (Urbino 1483, Rome 1520), Marlen dedicates to him this series of limited edition pens. Marlen reproduces two of his most famous paintings: the Self-Portrait and the Madonna of the Goldfinch, both painted between 1504 and 1506 and exhibited at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. The central part of the barrel of both pens is porcelain, on which, through a special process, the miniature of the painting has been reproduced. Two bronze rings decorated with Renaissance-inspired ovals close it at the ends. The cap is decorated with 3 beads in mother-of-pearl resin (red for the Madonna of the Goldfinch, echoing the color of the robe; brown for the Self-Portrait, like the tones of the background) alternated with as many in bronze. The cap and end pieces are in glossy black resin for the Madonna of the Goldfinch and dark brown for the Self-Portrait.
