It is a articulated Mallet locomotive with separate high- and low-pressure cylinders — a construction designed to haul heavy trains through tight curves and steep gradients, and which in Bavaria reached its most impressive form. Märklin released this model as a one-off series to celebrate the jubilee "200 Jahre Königreich Bayern" and supplied it as an MHI model through hobby trade channels. The locomotive is delivered in a decorative wooden case with an inlaid historic photo of the prototype in the lid, plus the original Märklin cardboard outer box. Condition: the locomotive is in excellent, barely used condition. The paint and the fine green lining are intact, the brass maintenance plates are sharp, and the added details, rails and hand levers are complete and undamaged.
