This legendary local railway locomotive is far better known by its nickname "Glaskasten" than by its official designation. The name stems from the distinctive construction of the driver's cab, which is built all around the boiler and largely consists of windows. Thanks to the semi-automatic shaking grate firing, the machine could be operated by one man, making it especially suitable for light service on branch lines. The Glaskasten is thus one of the most characteristic and beloved sights of Bavarian local railway operation. Model features: – Digital decoder, digitally switchable front signal – Two axles driven, one traction tire – Metal chassis and metal inner boiler, making the model notably heavy and stable for its size – Numerous separately fitted handrails and grab rails – Delicate rendering of the boiler fittings and decorative lines – Two-point front signal on both ends, alternating with direction of travel, conventionally operated and digitally switchable – Märklin couplings in standard sockets with swivel Length over the buffers: 8.0 cm. Delivered in the original Märklin packaging. Condition: the locomotive is in excellent condition. The paint, the gold works-number plate and the fine decorative lines are intact, the windows are clear, and the fragile railings and handrails on both footplates are complete and undamaged. All fences/brackets/wiring is present and intact! Model has been tested and is working. If there are any faults, please report them immediately after receipt. ……..
