Marcello Antonelli (1932-2009) - Paesaggio con cipressi e figura

Fascinating oil-on-canvas work by the Italian master Marcello Antonelli, characterized by his unmistakable style suspended between surrealism, metaphysical and poetic visionaryism. The painting depicts a barren yet evocative landscape dominated by dark silhouettes of cypresses, softly stylized hills, and touches of vibrant yellow among the vegetation, under a sky shaded in gray and pearly tones. On the hill to the right, the silhouette of a small human figure contemplates the horizon, giving the entire composition an intimate, silent atmosphere of deep introspection. On the back of the frame there is the artist's autograph signature with the dating (1965) and attached documentary paper attesting to the artist's career and critical references (including mentions of exhibition spaces and galleries).
