Magnificent turban snail (Turbo marmoratus) polished |...

A sparkling jewel of the seas: The polished Green Turban Snail Expand your collection with an absolute highlight of marine aesthetics. This beautiful Turbo marmoratus has been professionally freed from its rough calcareous crust in an elaborate process and deeply polished. The result is a breathtaking exhibit piece that is almost entirely made of pure, intensely iridescent mother-of-pearl. With a stately diameter of 10 cm, this heavy shell possesses magnificent presence and light reflection. Your highlights at a glance: - Species: Turbo marmoratus (Green Turban Snail / Green Turban) - Size: Diameter approx. 10 cm (heavy, massive specimen) - Treatment: Professionally ground and high-gloss polished - Optics: Iridescent nacre with fascinating plays of light in silver, cream and delicate green tones - Origin: Tropical Indo-Pacific Background & Collector value: The Turbo marmoratus is the largest of all turban snails and inhabits the turbulent coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific. Because of its extremely thick and high-quality nacre layer, it has been sought after worldwide for centuries – historically for intricate inlays (intarsia), today as one of the finest objects in conchology. In this specimen, the polish was executed so masterfully that the powerful, spiral architecture of the whorls is perfectly preserved, while the surface shines like liquid silver. ohne / diverse Turbo marmoratus poliert
