Madagascar 1942 - Madagascar / Free France (1942) – Major...

An exceptional, top‑tier philatelic piece, large format, highly documented by its journey and the actors involved. Sender on the back: Honorary Governor-General Réallon (Antananarivo, Madagascar). Recipient on the front: Mr. Gayet, Inspector General of the Colonies (with reroutings to Ségou – French Sudan – and Algiers). Postal journey: Numerous impressive transit marks on the back (Antananarivo, Algiers, Ségou, etc.) attesting to the voyage of this ministerial mail amid the conflict. Airmail franking from Madagascar with a missing stamp position at the upper right corner. A rare and sought-after piece for a premier collection on Free France.
