Screw-Cap Pocket Eyedropper. It is a so-called "Vest Pocket" or "Baby" fountain pen from Mabie Todd. The inscription on the holder is: MABIE TODD & CO. NEW YORK with patent date PAT. JAN. 26. 04. This patent related to the screw mechanism of the Safety Screw Cap. The inscription on the cap PAT. JULY 5 - 04. “Safety Screw Cap" (veiligheidsschroefdop) refers this patent of July 5, 1904 to the design of the ink-resistant inner cap. In the cap there is a small raised edge or a tapered interior (an inner cap) that seals the ink section around the nib airtight and fluid-tight. This provided a double safety against leaks when the pen was carried in a vest pocket/handbag.
