M.C. Escher (1898-1972) - after - Three Worlds Drei...

Iconic art print on light-weight paper after M. C. Escher – “Three Worlds” (1955) For sale is an art print after one of the most fascinating works by M. C. Escher. Escher is among the most important graphic artists of the 20th century and is worldwide known for his unique depictions of perception, perspective, and levels of reality. His works have an exceptionally high recognizability and a constant international demand. The motif “Three Worlds” from 1955 is among his particularly poetic and at the same time conceptually strong works. The motif shows a seemingly simple surface of water in which three reality levels are revealed at once: the world above the water, the reflection on the surface, and the underwater world with fish. It is precisely this combination of nature observation and intellectual image idea that makes the work one of the most impressive examples of Escher’s ability to translate complex concepts into visually accessible compositions. Works like “Three Worlds” come from a mature period of creation and are among the especially valued motifs, as they reflect Escher’s interest in reality, reflection, and perception in particularly clear form. The art print impresses with its calm, balanced composition and the at once profound visual impact. The generous sheet format of about 65 × 55 cm gives the work strong presence and makes it an ideal focal point. An iconic and at the same time contemplative motif from one of the most important graphic artists of the modern era with high radiance.
