Thank you - Title of the work: ROLEX FUCK 9-5 COLLECTION ( LEGO STREET ARTWORK ) - Presentation of the work: Here is a work that questions our relationship to work, time, and success. The Rolex watch symbolizes money, luxury and social status, while the inscription “FUCK 9–5” expresses a rejection of routine and a life entirely devoted to work. This piece does not denounce work itself, but invites reflection on the place it occupies in our existence. Why spend our time earning money if we no longer have time to enjoy life? By chasing success, don’t we risk forgetting the essential: to live, dream, and be free! The LEGO figure embodies here the rebellious spirit of street art: one who detours symbols, breaks codes, and makes public space a field of free expression. Perched on its ladder, it becomes a miniature graffiti artist who comes to tag the watch, symbol of luxury and social success, to inscribe a powerful and rebellious message: “FUCK 9–5.” Its gesture is an artistic provocation, a way of reclaiming control over time and denouncing a system that pushes us to live to the rhythm of work (9 to 5 or 9 to 17). Through him, graffiti becomes a voice, a signature that fissures appearances and reminds us that freedom sometimes begins with a simple stroke of paint. "Time is our most precious wealth" True success is not measured solely by what one possesses, but by the freedom to choose one’s life, pursue one’s dreams, and enjoy every moment. An essential truth that reminds us we do not have a whole life to make money, but only a finite time to live the life that resembles us. - Artistic realization: by Lyssandre Saint York - Year / 2026 - Limited Edition sold - 1/5 UNIT - Certificate of authenticity: Yes + numbered on the back and on the matting 1/5 + security label with signature capsule in the artist’s name L.Saint York in mirrored acrylic glass. - Support and dimensions: Display frame 22x22x3 cm in walnut veneer + white mat with protective glass. BIOGRAPHY of THE ARTIST Lyssandre Saint York, Designer and artist born in the 1970s. My artistic work sits at the crossroads of two worlds that fascinate me: the raw energy of street art and the visual efficiency of pop art. I grew up amid the rise of the “seventies” style and the Space Age design, a time of rupture when furniture refused pre-war sobriety to dare organic shapes, plastic and vibrant colors. Bathed in this bold aesthetic, I naturally first traced my path in design and fashion, conceiving and selling concepts worldwide for over 30 years to this day. This mastery of structure and visual impact then unfolds in my artistic creations. My journey as an artist began with the prism of play, composing my first works in Lego bricks under a frame. This artistic approach allowed me to revisit great pop culture icons. From Star Wars heroes to iconic figures like Mario Bros, Mickey, or the beloved Scrooge McDuck, mixing luxury brand symbols with these Lego characters, icons of an entire generation! I have always loved taking ownership of these symbols to give them a new dimension. This work naturally extended to creating sculptures with the rebellious graffiti environment of Banksy, or iconic Art Toy characters. By misusing these sculptures and these iconic figures, I play on contrasts to question our desires and our consumer society. This conceptual rigor dialogues with the absolute freedom of urban culture. Marker, spray, stencil, paint, drips and textured overlays, but also with other techniques that I combine with the chromatic power of pop art. My works have thus become a visual collision where the anticonformist design of the 70s meets luxury, and the spontaneity of street subversion. By juxtaposing and reinventing these collective and cult icons in a graphic and instinctive aesthetic, I offer a reading that is nostalgic, double-entendre, impactful and resolutely contemporary, with societal themes and minimalist conceptual illustration. From Paris to New York via Taiwan or even Australia, my works travel the world thanks to you and I thank you.
