Lucyna Patalita (1955) - Interprétation d’un dessin de Van Gogh

Lucyna Patalita (born 1955) – Interpretation of a Van Gogh drawing, 1986 Important oil on canvas measuring 66 × 100 cm, created in 1986 by the Polish artist Lucyna Patalita. The work offers a highly personal reinterpretation of a drawing by Vincent van Gogh, with a composition centered on a tree-lined avenue. The paint is applied in a luminous palette dominated by blues, greens, pale grays, and pinkish touches, giving the overall scene a mood that is at once gentle, vibrant, and highly decorative. The painting stands out for its large format, particularly interesting for a work from this period, as well as for its immediately recognizable character and its strong presence on the wall. On the reverse is an old label from P.P. Sztuka Polska – Galeria Sztuki, ul. Floriańska 34, hand-written. It reads: Lucyna Patalita, the title Interprétation d’un dessin de Van Gogh, the technique oil on canvas, the dimensions 100 × 66 cm, and the year 1986. This label constitutes a particularly interesting provenance element and directly documents the work in its original historical context. The work is kept on its original stretcher and presented with a simple frame that well showcases the composition. Condition: good overall considering its age. The canvas presents well. Some normal signs of time and light signs of wear are visible mainly on the frame. Please review the detailed photographs carefully, which are an integral part of the description. Dimensions of the canvas: 66 × 100 cm. A work of notable presence, characteristic of Polish painting from the second half of the 20th century, bringing together a large format, documented provenance, and a Van Gogh-inspired subject.
