Luciano Spazzali (1911-1997) - Natura morta con melograni...

Luciano Spazzali (Trieste 1911 - Piacenza 1997) “Still life with pomegranates and grapes in a fantastic landscape” Measurements: 69 x 54 cm in frame Painting: 51 x 36 cm Period: 1980s/1990s Mixed media on paper applied to wooden panel Signature: Signed “Spazzali” at the bottom right Frame: Work presented in a moulded frame with a silvery finish and a wide light mat Description of the work Interesting pictorial composition by Luciano Spazzali, characterized by a personal figurative language in which the still life blends with a fantastic and symbolic landscape dimension. In the foreground stand pomegranates and clusters of grapes, rendered with a warm and luminous palette. On the left side develops a tree with suggestive reddish tones, while in the background a orange sun emerges from an atmosphere suspended, dominated by delicate pink, yellow and green shades. The work stands out for its refined chromatic balance, the richness of the vegetal details and the original interpretation of nature, transfigured into a poetic and almost dreamlike vision. Conservation status: From the images the work appears in generally decent condition, with some surface irregularities and signs compatible with time. A definitive conservation assessment requires direct examination. The composition is coherent with the research related to Piacenza Fantasy Realism, a movement to which Spazzali contributed together with artists such as Gustavo Foppiani and Armodio.
