Pieter d'or (also called Gouden Peter or Piètre d'or), minted under the reign of Jeanne and Wenceslas, dukes of Brabant (1355-1383), struck around 1375–1381, mainly at the Leuven workshop. Characteristic Avers: Bust of Saint Peter facing forward, nimbate, holding the key in the right hand and the book in the left. Below is the shield quartered with the arms of Brabant, Limburg and Luxembourg. Legend: + WECELAVS° ET° IOHANA° DEI° GRA° DVCS° BRAB (Wenceslas and Jeanne, by the grace of God, dukes of Brabant). Revers: Fleur-de-lys cross, hollowed at the heart, adorned with a five-petaled rose at the center, all within a quadrilobe. Legend: + XPC VINCIT XPC REGNAT XPC IMPERAT. Official weight: Exactly 4.11 g of pure gold This coin is in an exceptional state of preservation (SUP / Superb): the reliefs, the head of Saint Peter, and the shield are perfectly sharp and well struck.
