Chesterfield — Leather Wingback Armchair with Footstool A set comprising a high-back armchair and a coordinating footstool, upholstered in genuine leather in brown and cognac tones, with variations ranging from lighter golden-brown areas to darker shades. The armchair features a tall wingback, deep diamond button tufting and buttons covered in leather. The rounded, rolled armrests are finished with gathered folds, while decorative metal trim follows the contours of the arm fronts and side wings. The separate seat cushion has piping around its edge. A headrest cushion is supported by leather straps with a counterweight positioned behind the backrest. A leather skirt conceals the wooden feet. The footstool complements the armchair in colour and design. Its cushioned top features deep button tufting and piping around the perimeter. The lower section is also finished with a leather skirt. Estimated period of manufacture: 1970s–1990s. This dating is approximate and unconfirmed. The manufacturer is unknown, and no labels are present. Condition: noticeable signs of use, including rubbing, creases, surface scratches and variations in the leather’s colour. Lighter areas are visible on the armrests, with numerous scratches on the sides and rear of the backrest. The condition of the frame and internal padding cannot be assessed from the photographs.
