Lithograph in colors, 1974, pencil signed, dated, titled, and numbered 16/60, matted and framed. Frame dimensions 39 1/2 x 39 1/2 in. From the Collection of a Lady, Chapel Hill, North Carolina Stovall’s own prints and drawings are part of numerous private and public collections worldwide, e.g., the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and Phillips Collection. The Lou Stovall Workshop, began in 1968 as a small but active silkscreen workshop, evolved into an internationally- recognized printmaking facility collaborating with Jacob Lawrence, Sam Gilliam, Elizabeth Catlett, Robert Mangold, and others. In 1969 Stovall was invited by the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s Director to expand his operation in a new extension of the museum at the location of the former Washington Gallery of Modern Art in Dupont Circle, Washington, D.C. He designed the cover artwork for Roberta Flack's fifth studio album, Feel Like Makin' Love (March 1975). Good estate condition; few minor foxing marks; small indentation left margin; not examined out of frame.
