GENERAL: The Lotus Super Seven S2 is a legendary lightweight sports car designed by Colin Chapman, celebrated for embodying the philosophy of simplifying and adding lightness. This particular 1967 kit was sold in 1971 by Joop Donkervoort, the famous Lotus importer who later founded Donkervoort Automobielen in 1978. Adapted by Donkervoort before his own model production began, this Series 2 features a chassis that is longer and wider than the standard English version, making it comfortable even for drivers over 1.85 meters tall. Built meticulously by Mr. Nolte, who thoroughly documented every step and component, this car weighs a mere 560 kg and delivers an incredible go-kart driving feel. BODYWORK & PAINT: The exterior shows an authentic patina that reflects the vehicle's age, with visible stone chips and minor marks from over the years. The Revolution alloy wheels have been recently restored. TECHNICAL: Powered by a specially prepared and tuned 1600cc twin-cam engine producing 125 bhp, providing an unbelievable power-to-weight ratio. The car recently underwent a major service that included a complete cylinder head rebuild with new inlet and outlet valves, a new radiator, distributor cap, spark plugs, expansion tank, a full carburetor rebuild, and an overall overhaul of the braking system. INTERIOR: The interior displays gentle aging consistent with the vehicle's history. The car comes equipped with a tonneau cover as well as a brand new, unused soft top. DOCUMENTS: Includes full documentation of the build process and components used by Mr. Nolte. The original purchase invoice written and signed by Joop Donkervoort is present and included in the sale. The vehicle is exempt from technical inspection. COLLECTION: Available for pickup in Sant Just Desvern, located in the Baix Llobregat region, province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
