The larger chest of rectangular form, the front panel carved with four Chinese characters reading '歌功頌德' (praising merits and virtues), fitted with three interior drawers, the upper drawer containing various items including shells, chopsticks and notebooks, with a pair of metal handles to the sides. Together with another dark lacquered chest of rectangular form with a hinged cover and circular brass lock plate. Dimensions: 57 × 25 × 23 cm and 63 × 18 × 18 cm.
