Two letters by Maarten van der Goes van Dirxland to Louis Napoleon, dated March 1807. It concerns a request from the French priest Laforest from Valette to Louis Napoleon, who had taken care of the education of the ladies Cordeil before he became king. Now that Louis has become king, the priest no longer knows to whom he should address the reimbursement of the costs of the education. In the first letter Maarten van der Goes presents the problem to the king; the second letter concerns a copy of the letter from Father Laforest. Both letters are signed by Maarten van der Goes. In the margin, by the king (secretary of?) a note was added: "Renvoyé à Monsieur de Senegra pour rendre compte de cette négligence coupable" and Louis Napoleon put his initials to sign.
