This painting presents an expansive rural landscape dominated by a wide variety of greens, yellows and earthy tones. The composition is organized by large horizontal bands that lead the eye from the vegetation in the foreground to a distant line of mountains. The scene is not focused on a single isolated element, but on the immensity of the territory and on how light, the sky, and the vegetation transform the appearance of the field. In the foreground a lush vegetation surface unfolds, formed by light greens, turquoises, pale yellows and grayish nuances. This area conveys the sense of a field covered with tall grasses and wild plants that grow freely. Among the brighter areas appear small dark, reddish, and brown specks that suggest earth, stones, or dry vegetation, visually enriching the terrain and avoiding a uniform representation. The lower band has strong chromatic intensity and functions as the base of the whole composition. The greens here acquire multiple variations, from fresh and bright tones to deep hues bordering blue. Some areas seem to tilt and advance in different directions, creating the impression that the grass moves under the wind. This sense of movement adds vitality to a scene that, due to its breadth and absence of human figures, also retains a deep calm. In the central zone there is a band of darker earth that runs horizontally across the landscape. Its browns, purples, reddish and blueish colors contrast with the greens surrounding it and could evoke a rural path, a boundary between plots, or a natural depression of the terrain. This line acts as a structural element that divides the composition and guides the gaze from one end to the other, reinforcing the sense of width. Beyond this band extends a second area of fields, represented by yellowish greens, lime tones, ochres, and small golden glints. The light seems to concentrate especially in this part of the landscape, illuminating the vegetation and establishing a strong contrast with the dark sky in the background. The different tonalities suggest plots, meadows, and cultivated areas that follow until the horizon. In the middle ground stand several shrubs or small groups of trees distributed irregularly. Their rounded, compact shapes rise against the light fields, creating a succession of dark volumes that add depth. The blue-greens, browns, and purples present in these masses make them appear distant and partially covered by the shade of the clouds. The arrangement of these shrubs introduces a slow rhythm within the landscape. Some appear isolated, while others form small groups, as if delimiting the edges of a plot or following the course of an invisible path. Their silhouettes, barely defined, do not seek to describe every branch or leaf, but to convey the general presence of the vegetation and its natural integration into the territory. In the upper part rises a line of mountains or hills represented by deep blues, dark greens, grays, and blacks. These elevations form an irregular and contundent horizon that contrasts with the luminosity of the fields. Their somber aspect adds drama to the scene and suggests a great distance, as if the landscape extended until meeting a mountain range veiled by clouds. The sky occupies a significant band of the composition and appears charged with dense and changing forms. The bluish, gray, greenish, and dark tones mix with lighter areas, creating the sense of an unstable atmosphere. It could be the moment before a storm, when the clouds accumulate on the horizon while the light still intensely illuminates the fields. This contrast between clarity and darkness gives the landscape a great emotional strength. The succession of horizontal planes provides depth without relying on rigid perspective. The vegetal foreground, the earthy band, the illuminated fields, the shrubs, and the mountains overlap like different layers of the territory. Each has its own rhythm and color, but all remain connected, forming a unitary view of the natural environment. Overall, the work offers an intense and poetic interpretation of the rural landscape, in which the luminous vegetation confronts a dark sky and dark mountains. The greens and yellows convey fertility, life, and energy, while the blues and grays of the horizon introduce mystery and drama. The painting invites contemplation of the immensity of the countryside and that changing moment when the light seems to resist the arrival of the storm.
