Wilhelm Wagenfeld for Lindner Leuchten – Vintage Bauhaus wall/ceiling lamp – porcelain & opal glass – 1950s A particularly beautiful vintage German wall or ceiling lamp, attributed to the renowned designer Wilhelm Wagenfeld and manufactured by the firm Lindner Leuchten. The design dates from around the 1950s and stands as a characteristic example of the functional Bauhaus tradition: a restrained form where material, functionality, and a beautiful diffuse light are central. Similar versions are listed as model 6102 / catalog number 356. The lamp consists of a sturdy base of white glazed porcelain, combined with a nicely rounded shade of milky white opal glass. The opal glass diffuses the light softly and evenly, giving the lamp a timeless appearance both when lit and when off. The lamp can be used as both a wall lamp and a ceiling lamp due to its design, and fits perfectly within a Bauhaus, Mid-Century Modern, industrial, or minimalist interior.
