The Leica R3 MOT Electronic is a legendary 35mm single-lens reflex camera (SLR) that was introduced to the market between 1978 and 1979. It is a development of the standard Leica R3 from 1976, the first Leica camera with electronic shutter control. The main difference with the standard R3 is the addition of electronic contacts and a coupling on the bottom of the camera body. This makes the camera suitable for the Motor Winder R3. Great build quality, access to the sublime and razor-sharp Leica R lenses, and very accurate spot metering. The camera offered is probably produced in 1978 and is physically in very good condition. Shutter, diaphragm seem to function correctly. Front-ring lens is missing, this does not hinder operation. The operation is as best described; this is vintage. The camera was not tested with film. Shutter speeds: Continuously from 4 seconds to 1/1000s Mechanical emergency time: 1/90s Exposure modes: Aperture-priority (A) and fully manual. Metering: Unique dual TTL metering. You can switch between spot metering (selective) and center-weighted metering (integral). Lens mount: Leica R bayonet. Battery: Runs on 2x SR44 silver-oxide coin cells. Weight: about 780 grams (solid, tank-like metal housing). Lens: Summicron-R Leitz 50mm f/2.0 The camera was not tested with film.
