Designer: Max Berek. Optical design: A special 5-element in 3-group scheme, with a triplet glued to the rear, preceding the famous Elmar 50mm f/3.5 (inspired instead by Tessar-type 4-lens schemes). Mount: Originally it was a fixed, non-interchangeable lens, permanently mounted on the Leica I body. The specimens later converted to screw mount (LTM / M39) are extremely rare conversions done later for the owners of those early models. [1] Evolution: Due to production and commercial updates, the design was soon renamed Elmax (in honor of Ernst Leitz and Max Berek) and then perfected in the famous Elmar. Insured courier shipping.
