Leandro Olano - Mirada Prestada

Borrowed Gaze. The eye you can see on her is the same color and almost the same shape as the bird’s — as if the vision had been borrowed between the two figures. It’s the same device of “shared eyes” that you already used in the previous piece, so this title builds continuity in the series without repeating the reference to Argos, which wouldn’t fit here: this bird doesn’t read as peacock. Alternatives: Burning Plumage (if you prefer prioritizing the palette, warmer and more Fauvist than the first work) or The Gesture of Silence (if you want to emphasize the hand brought to the chin). With "Borrowed Gaze": There is only one human eye in this painting, and it is almost identical to the bird that envelops it: the same amber, the same glow. The bird’s head, resolved in deep blues and purples, frames the scene from above; the female face is built instead with a Fauvist palette of yellows, magentas, and cyans that does not imitate skin but its emotional temperature. The hand brought to the chin adds a gesture of restraint that balances the chromatic intensity of the rest of the canvas. Work by Leandro Olano, completed entirely by hand.
