Le Yack - Le Dîner sous la lune - Hand signed

Under a DINER sign with chrome letters, a blonde woman in a green dress waits alone in the lit room, a coffee in front of her. Outside, a two-tone Bordeaux and cream Buick is parked at the edge of the sidewalk, door open. A man in a light suit, cigarette at his lips, is leaning against the body. Above the palm trees, the moon is full. The painting echoes the waiting of Nighthawks and the loneliness of illuminated counters at night, but it opens the scene to the street: a story begins outside the frame, outside the storefront window. The contrast between the yellow light of the diner and the deep blue of the night makes this storefront a theater. A night in America where everyone waits for something that has not yet come..
