Todas las subastas / Relojes de pared & de pulsera / Le Coultre - Wrist Alarm - Men - 1950-1959
Authentic vintage LeCoultre Memovox watch with alarm function (Wrist Alarm) dating from the 1950s. It is the version produced for the American market, recognizable by its signature “LeCoultre” on the dial (instead of Jaeger-LeCoultre). The case was manufactured in the United States by the prestigious Star Watch Case Company to meet the customs regulations of the time. A magnificent piece of horological history, 100% original and “as is.” Features: • Brand: LeCoultre Model: Memovox Wrist Alarm Period: 1950s / 1960s Movement: Manual-wind mechanical (double barrel: one for time, one for the alarm). Case: 10 karat gold-filled (10K Gold Filled). Clear internal regulatory markings: “Cased and timed in U.S.A. by LeCoultre Watch” with serial number. Crown: Two original crowns (2 o’clock for the alarm, 4 o’clock for the time). Dial: Original dial with applied indices, blued steel dauphine hands, and a central rotating disc for setting the alarm. Condition & Function (Please read carefully): • Aesthetic: The watch shows a pronounced patina on the dial from age (oxidation marks that give it a unique vintage charm). The case shows natural oxidation marks (verdigris at the lugs) but no major distortion. The watchmaker engravings inside the caseback attest to past servicing. Mechanical: The watch runs and the alarm function triggers. Note a drift of about one second per day, likely requiring cleaning and adjustment of the mechanism. Sold without box or original papers. Mounted on a vintage brown leather strap. A superb opportunity for a collector or horological restoration enthusiast looking to give new life to an icon.
