Late 19th Century Japanese Imari Porcelain Charger – Large 34 cm Floral Design A striking late 19th-century Japanese Imari porcelain charger, richly decorated in the characteristic palette of deep cobalt blue, vivid iron red, green and gilt. The large scalloped form features an elaborate floral composition surrounding a central vase of flowers, creating a highly decorative and balanced design. Key Details Origin & Period: Japan, late 19th century, produced in the traditional Imari style. Decoration: Dense hand-painted floral and foliate motifs arranged in alternating panels, with a central flower-filled vase and elegant gilt highlights. Materials & Craftsmanship: Glazed porcelain with underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze enamels in red, green and gold tones. Dimensions: Diameter 34 cm (13.39 in); height 5.5 cm (2.17 in). Condition: No chips. Some minor age-related imperfections are visible, particularly on the underside. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the condition description. Display: The reverse is currently fitted with a metal hanging system for wall display.
