KY. Lincoln Farm Association, 1908, Issued Membership Certificate

Kentucky, 1908. Issued Honorary Member Certificate for the Lincoln Form Association, Black print with portrait of Lincoln at top with log cabin to left and White House at right, Red embossed seal at bottom center. VF to VF+ condition with toning, stains, and small tears around margin. Issued during the early 20th-century historic preservation movement, this certificate relates to the Lincoln Farm Association, organized in 1906 to acquire and preserve Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace in Hodgenville, Kentucky. The Association’s efforts directly led to the creation of what is now Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park, making these honorary membership certificates tangible artifacts from one of the earliest nationally coordinated preservation campaigns dedicated to an American president.
