Original 35mm Pathé-Journal Safety Film Print – Oxford Cambridge – c. 1952 Offered is an original 35mm black-and-white motion-picture film print bearing the Pathé-Journal identification and the title “OXFORD CAMBRIDGE”. The film is a professional 35mm theatrical/newsreel print, with standard perforations on both sides and an optical soundtrack. Diameter 12,5 cm when rolled up. A “SAFETY” edge marking is visible on the film, identifying it as safety-base film. The footage contains historical sporting scenes from the early 1950s, including: Oxford–Cambridge rowing / Boat Race footage football played in a large stadium large crowds and spectators period sporting and newsreel scenes The imagery is consistent with sporting events from approximately 1952. The 1952 Oxford–Cambridge Boat Race took place on 29 March 1952, in difficult winter conditions with snow along the Thames. � Hear The Boat Sing +1 The film therefore offers an interesting physical piece of mid-century newsreel and sporting history.
