KNAPPE (K.-A.). Dürer. Engravings. Complete Works. Paris, Arts et Métiers Graphiques, n.d. A substantial volume in large quarto, in the publisher’s brown cloth binding, with silver lettering on the front cover. A major publication devoted to the engraved works of Albrecht Dürer, edited by K.-A. Knappe. The volume constitutes an extensive iconographic corpus of the Nuremberg master’s woodcuts and engravings. Numerous full-page reproductions allow for a detailed study of Dürer’s technique and extraordinary graphic richness. Notably reproduced are the major religious series, the Apocalypse compositions, as well as numerous individual engravings and emblematic compositions. A particularly interesting reference work due to the breadth of its iconography. No dust jacket. Cloth binding slightly rubbed with some signs of wear; interior well preserved.
